I finally got to try the food. My grandson and I had the farmers burger and a spicy chicken sandwich with both fries and onion rings. All super good! It was a splurge for us to eat out and we could have found cheaper food, but not as good. I was tempted by their store and all the goodies I would have loved to buy and take home for later. I did get a box of caramel apple cookies that were big enough to be still eating the next day. I would go back to get some of the desserts and dips to take home. My video of the store got shortened to 30 seconds. I guess I should limit videos to under 30 seconds. Maybe I can chop it up and put the rest up.

The place was very cute. The food was good enough but nothing exceptional. Although, we asked for medium on the burgers and 1 was perfect but 1 was very raw in the middle. They really needed more help. We only saw 2 people working there and they consistently had a line which included call in orders. The menu outside didn't explain things or have any prices. And there were only 2 laminated menus at the register. I didn't want to be in line and then be holding up others while we decided what to get so I nabbed one, but that meant that no one else could nab one. I thought the prices were a little high but not too terrible.

If you like eating a $15 burnt brisket sandwich where you can taste every piece of gristle scraped off the grill … this is the place. I can only add that the girls working the milkshake counter were nice. But they also don’t list the milkshake choic where you order them but inside where it’s too late… way overpriced!! Gross gross

We would rate our experience at Farmers Table of Newport News a 4/5. Customers order at the outdoor checkout window, then can choose to sit either inside or outside. The burger and shake were our favorite parts of the meal, though the bun was a little soggy and the fries portion was pretty small. They also have sides, snacks, ice cream, and desserts available inside the store.

I stopped here after spending the morning at Huntington Park and I’m glad I did. The Farmhouse cheeseburger and raspberry shake were 10/10. It was 80 degrees and sunny outside, but there was a good amount of shade over some of the outdoor seating. Will be coming back!
